still working on an old burda pattern..
I wanted to use an old sheet as muslin, but it turned out that I quite liked the result, so I decided to make a proper dress out of it.

Hazel2
This is my second Hazel
This time I followed the original pattern almost exactly.
I got the downlodable pattern and found it quite fun to print it and found my size, trace it on to oven paper, and adjust it.
My size is 4 but had to downsize it at waist.
Made it quite tight as I didn't want to have a garnment which looked like someone else's.
I'm really pleased with the results.
The fabric is a mustard parsley, found in my favourite cheap fabric shop here in Milan: Lario Scampoli.

Hazel.1
Here's my first Hazel.
I made quite a while ago but got the picture taken only recently.
Plus I'm very bad at keeping this blog running.
It's a cina blue heavy cotton which I bought to make a sort of muslin.
I did like how it came out and wear it very often.
The skirt is a bit fuller than the original pattern but I was scared that my tights wouldn't fit.
Plus I wanted a bit more movement.
I didn't sew any pocket though. Too lazy.....

LBD finished!!!!!!!!
It's finished.
It's an easy piece, but I took so long posting it as I started a new job, in a new town and have been very busy going back and forth.
But I'm now writing from beautiful Stresa ,on the Lake Maggiore,Italy(of course) so.. It's worth it.
I have also finished two(yesssss "2" ) Colette's Hazel dresses. One in china blue and the other in a sort of camel parsley print.
I'm definitely late for the Sew Colette 2.0 but I tried.really I did.
I'll probabily be ready for ,say.. a Colette 3.0 :)
Anyway... here are some pictures I took with my lovely friend Giusy.
I'm the one with the grey top....
Outside....
And Inside........
But,hey! We didn't see any grey top!
C'mon "Antonietta",we want to see the photographer!!!!
OK then ;)
See you soon.(and I Mean Soon)

LBD work in progress
Searching throught patterns (mainly burdastyle as they have downloadable patterns so that I don't have to wait for the patterns to get mailed) I realized that the project was too simple to get a proper pattern to buy.
So I opted for a couple of different pieces I already had in my stash.
The top:
Imagine it black and with a stright edge. I got the Idea from Tasia of Sewaholic: just trace a line on the pattern to fill the heart shaped bit on the bust, and remove the straps on the shoulders.:
And for the skirt this simple and great pattern:Burda8155
So far I do like the "ensemble" so much that am thinking of making something similar for myself
Wouldn't it look great with this PRADA purse and shoes?
I think so..... it'll look purrrrrfect. I love those shoes, they're so funny.
Prada also made themed sunglasses (genius!!!)
......
I am also planning to take part to the Sew Colette 2.0 .I bought the digital Hazel pattern and a cina blue fabric for the muslin.
I'm planning to start working at it tomorrow,as I will be away for three days ,starting sunday.
I'm flying to Barcellona.Hope to find inspirations visiting all the beautiful places and relax on the beach.
Have a great weekend
