works in progress...the halter dress

still working on an old burda pattern..
I wanted to use an old sheet as  muslin, but it turned out that I quite liked the result, so I decided to make a proper dress  out of it.

Hazel2

This is my second Hazel
This time I followed the original pattern almost exactly.
I got the downlodable pattern and found it quite fun to print it and found my size, trace it on to oven paper, and adjust it.
My size is 4 but had to downsize it at waist.
Made it quite tight as I didn't want to have a garnment which looked like someone else's.
I'm really pleased with the results.
The fabric is a mustard parsley, found in my favourite cheap fabric shop here in Milan: Lario Scampoli.

Hazel.1

Here's my first Hazel.
I made quite a while ago but got the picture taken only recently.
Plus I'm very bad at keeping this blog running.
It's a cina blue heavy cotton which I bought to make a sort of muslin.
I did like how it came out and wear it very often.
The skirt is a bit fuller than the original pattern but I was scared that my tights wouldn't fit.
Plus I wanted a bit more movement.
I didn't sew any pocket though. Too lazy.....

Summer Jamboree 2012

SENIGALLIA aug 2012

Here I am....
Wearing my "happy days" outfit, amongst the most amazing swing dancers and super stilish vintage types.

What a great day! Have you been to the Summer Jumboree 2012 ?
I'll definetly go back next year.It was like walking with all those people I usually see on vintage fashion blogs.

Can you see my dress?
It's my "summer spark"...
I actually made only one of this, but wore it and felt like I was going to a ball.
It'sMcCall's 6331 version B, with M6350 's skirt.

Next year I'll dare a bit more. I promise!!

I hope I'd taken more pictures. I always feel a bit shy taking pictures of other people but now I mostly have images on my mind and almost nothing on film. arggg!!!

Have a nice weekend!
